What is Christian Science?

It is a Christian religion based on the Bible and the teachings of Jesus. It was discovered in the late 1800's by Mary Baker Eddy who wrote Science & Health with Key to the Scriptures as a companion book to the Bible. It is referred to as our textbook. The Bible and Science and Health are our only pastors. Through the study of these books we learn of our relationship to God and our fellow man, and the practical system of spiritual, prayer based healing, available to everyone.

From these two books are prepared the weekly Lesson Sermon which is for daily study and read on Sunday mornings in Christian Science Churches and Societies throughout the world. This Lesson Sermon can be heard locally on WKRC 550 AM at 5 AM Sunday mornings.

The Greater Cincinnati Christian Science Churches support a downtown Reading Room at 412 Vine Street.

All are welcome to visit the library to read or purchase Christian Science literature. There is an informal Christian Science meeting held every Wednesday at noon in this location. All are invited to attend.
